# Plumbline

> Know who you are dealing with.

Plumbline screens a person or company name against the US Treasury OFAC SDN list and its aliases in seconds, returning each match with its score, entry number and programs and the list's publication date; a match is a lead for review, not a determination. Its company checks (LEI and SEC registration, SEC-reported XBRL figures and federal contract awards) answer from the public registries where they are running, and every answer names the record it came from.

Plumbline is operated by Tempered Technologies LLC, 8 The Green STE B, Dover, DE 19901. Privacy questions and deletion requests: privacy@forevenza.com. Privacy notice: https://plumbline.forevenza.com/privacy/

## What Plumbline does

- **Sanctions screening** (runs here): https://plumbline.forevenza.com/sanctions-screening/: A person or company name against the OFAC SDN list and its aliases, with the list's publication date on every answer. Run it at the top of this page, or on its own page with the full reference.
- **Entity verification** (takes a specification): https://plumbline.forevenza.com/entity-verification/: LEI records and SEC registration by name, LEI or CIK. Not running yet; describe what you need and it is kept on file with a reference number.
- **Reported financials** (runs now): https://plumbline.forevenza.com/company-financials/: A public company's reported revenue, net income, assets and other XBRL figures by fiscal period, from its SEC filings.
- **Federal contract awards** (runs now): https://plumbline.forevenza.com/federal-awards/: Federal contract actions by vendor, NAICS code, state and fiscal year, from FPDS.

## Screen a name on this page

The home page at https://plumbline.forevenza.com/ screens a name in place and draws every match on a score rule from 0.50 to 1.00. The similarity floor (default 0.82; each new name starts there, and a changed floor is named in the answer and the record) is a line on the rule: entries and aliases scoring at or above it are possible matches (at most 20, highest first), and the three nearest below it stay in view in grey with a one-step way to lower the floor to each. On the page, each name is also screened in up to 4 respellings (e and o written as a, i and u, as the standard Arabic romanization does, so "Hezbollah" also runs as "Hizballah"; and Russian-style consonants such as w as v); a match found that way names the spelling and what the name as written scored. Equal scores are ordered by how many of the query's words the listed name holds. Each match can be marked "Not our party" or "Needs review" with a reason, and the page keeps a screening record (party, spellings checked, list and publication date, copy fetched, floor, names screened, time, each match with the reviewer's disposition and reason) that prints, copies as text or downloads as JSON. Earlier screens in the same tab can be reopened with their marks. Nothing about the review is stored or sent.

Agents calling the operation directly get the name as written only; to match the page, also call it with the respellings and keep each entry's best score.

A link of the form https://plumbline.forevenza.com/?name=Banco%20Nacional%20de%20Cuba&min_score=0.82 opens the page with that screen.

## Operation: GET /sanctions-screening/op/screen

SDN entries and aliases whose normalized name is similar to the given name, with scores, programs and the list publication date.

Price: free within a daily allowance.

- `name` (string): Name to screen
- `min_score` (number): Similarity floor, default 0.82

Limits: names up to 200 characters; at most 20 matches per answer.

Example answer:

```json
{
  "query": "Banco Nacional de Cuba",
  "matches": [
    {
      "ofac_uid": "306",
      "listed_name": "BANCO NACIONAL DE CUBA",
      "score": 1,
      "type": "organization",
      "programs": "CUBA",
      "list": "SDN"
    }
  ],
  "publication": "2026-10-27",
  "fetched_at": "2026-11-03T06:17:00Z",
  "note": "A match is a lead for review, not a sanctions determination."
}
```

Each match has `list` "SDN" (a primary name) or "SDN alias". Live answers also carry `min_score` and `entries_screened` (the names and aliases compared). A match is a lead for review, not a determination.

## Scope

The US OFAC SDN list only; it applies to US persons and transactions with a US nexus.

- Not a compliance determination: a reviewer must confirm or dismiss any match.
- Other lists (EU, UK, UN, OFAC non-SDN consolidated lists) are not screened.
- Matching is on names only; dates of birth, addresses and identifiers are not compared.

## Something this does not cover

Other lists, batches of names or recurring runs: POST JSON to https://plumbline.forevenza.com/sanctions-screening/requests?via=plumbline-home with { action, need, specifications, quantity, timing, geography, budget, requested_fields, contact }. Specifications this proposition declares: party_name, party_type, lists_required, batch_size. Example:

```json
{
  "action": "verify",
  "need": "Screen our 4,000 customer names weekly against OFAC, EU and UK lists and flag new hits.",
  "specifications": {
    "lists_required": [
      "OFAC SDN",
      "EU consolidated",
      "UK HMT (OFSI)"
    ],
    "batch_size": 4000
  },
  "timing": {
    "recurrence": "weekly"
  }
}
```

The answer is a receipt with a reference number. Schema: https://plumbline.forevenza.com/sanctions-screening/schema.json

## Cost

The screen is free within a daily allowance. Sending a requirement is free.
