Plumbline / Counterparty checks

Know who you are dealing with.

Screen a name against the US Treasury's OFAC SDN list and its aliases, with the list's date on every answer. Then check the company's registrations, filings and federal contracts.

Each match hangs from this rule at its score.

The plumb line is the similarity floor. Entries and aliases scoring at or above it are your possible matches; the nearest below it are shown in grey, so a near miss is never mistaken for a clean answer. Every answer carries the list's publication date.

Drag the line, or use the arrow keys: entries at or above it are possible matches, the nearest below it stay in view in grey. Each new name starts at the 0.82 default; a floor you change is named in the answer and in the record. With scripts on, each name is also screened in up to four respellings, with e and o written as Arabic's a, i and u (so “Hezbollah” also runs as “Hizballah”) and Russian-style consonants (w as v, a final ff as v).
